My students are Bronxites who are rarely exposed to a variation of activities. They are inquisitive, brave, and thoughtful adolescents who are labeled “at-risk youth” because of where they live. There is no space for vulnerability in their lives, there is no space to just 'be'. My students live their lives day to day with the primal instinct of survival guiding their actions.
