My students require specialized instruction to meet their needs for learning. Using a sensory approach will help them utilize multi-sensory materials that will promote learning. My students need sensory to help identify and regulate their emotions. These sensory materials allow my students to be hands on and meet their sensory needs. My students benefit using kinetic sand by molding shapes and manipulating sensory material. The sensory water table benefits and helps promote hand washing and play. Using play-doh and play-foam allows manipulation and sensory input for children that have sensory sensitivities. The sensory lightening machine creates an atmosphere in the classroom that provides a calm feeling in order to promote a productive learning environment. The emotions puzzle and my moods book will help my students that have difficulty communicating to express their feelings. The play cube has multi-activities that provides a variety of sensory input and promotes share play among students that have difficulty taking turns/sharing. My students will thrive with all the added sensory materials.
