In my new MARVELous class this year we will be doing math workshop. Students will get more small group time so that I can better differentiate their instruction to meet each of my kids individual needs. I love working in small groups with my students because it helps me to see how they learn best and get the personal help they need. The current table used for workstations makes it hard to work 1:1 with students because of how far some students are from me during small group work, a horseshoe table would allow me to move around and help all students. Having this requested horseshoe table will allow me to work 1:1 with students during guided reading and math workstations without disrupting the other students in the group. The best part is that the top of this table is a whiteboard surface which will allow my students to write right on the table. I have noticed that my students are so much more excited and engaged when they get to use whiteboards instead of regular paper! Who would have thought. I can't wait to see how this table will help improve my students' learning.
