Nearly every child in America has felt the effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic in one way or another. Chronic stress can change brain structure, impairing cognitive skills such as attention, concentration, and the ability to regulate emotions. The weighted vests and lap pads will help students with sensory processing, attention/focus, and self-regulation, allowing for the retention of information. The reading pen will read aloud the content and give struggling readers more independence. These devices will allow the students to better focus on the curriculum taught, therefore improving their learning opportunities.
