My students are great kids who need a little extra assistance getting to where they are going. Many of them are college bound, while the others are heading toward a career in the military. Our school tends to have a bad reputation for being a gang territory, but the in-school culture is much more diverse than that. The students struggle to learn in an environment where funding is low, but student spirit is high. Each of my seniors has gone from feeling like they couldn't succeed, to trying their very best to do so. However, they need exposure to different literary sources before being released into the world of After High School.
