My students are self-motivated and problem-solvers who work together to achieve their goals. My students are determined to attend college and make the world a better place. Our school is located in a low income area. Our population consists of students that come from economically disadvantaged families. Our school demographics include 97% free lunch and 87% limited English proficiency. However, our teachers and students are working hard to change the culture of our school through afterschool programs such as robotics, chess, and technology clubs. As a science lab teacher, I have the opportunity to work with all students in 5th and 4th grade. I can say with certainty that the students in our school are amazing people and truly want to make a difference in the world.
