I teach at a Title 1 school where over 90% percent of students are economically disadvantaged. My students also have limited English proficiency. Our school takes innovative and progressive approaches to take our students to performance levels that compete with students at high socioeconomic schools. Several of my students do not have the resources at home needed to build on their reading skills. I want to be sure to provide these resources for them at school to become better readers.
