I teach 5th and 6th grade math, and my students are mostly middle class. This usually is seen as a positive thing, however the middle class is struggling a great deal in our current economic times. Many of my students have a difficult time with being motivated to do well, and the funding available to other schools is simply not as accessible to the middle class populations.
