Currently my students have old TI-84 calculators. They drain batteries quickly, the backs are falling off or missing, and the buttons are no longer labeled. My students are learning how to use these calculators at this time in their educational career. They are used to learn new skill and to aid them on their collage entrance exams. They are a key piece of technology in our classroom. My students deserve to learn as much as they can and be prepared for college. Without working calculators my students struggle to learn. We have started graphing function, but most of them are having a hard time finding the right buttons because the labels have rubbed of over the years. Since they cannot find the correct buttons they cannot learn how to use the calculators. These calculators are are also used during the ACT and my students need working calculators to do the best they can. I want to see all of my students succeed and these calculators are a helpful tool.
