What better way to improve literacy than through song? Sing-along stories can help student engagement while working on literacy skills within my choir class. Sing-along stories have the potential to improve listening skills, increase vocabulary, and help students become familiar with the value of books. Music is interdisciplinary. Sing-along stories provide a new way for me to connect music with other subjects that my students are learning each and every day. This quote is posted in the front lobby of our school, and I think it connects well with this project. "There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all." Jackie Kennedy
