Some of my proudest teaching moments are when my students and I are gathered on the carpet and a story I have read aloud has connected to them. Sharing stories that help them put words to their feelings, emotions and their personal stories help to develop socially emotionally and self aware young people. The topics range from dealing with emotions to making good choices to regulating anger to breath work. They can take this inner knowledge into the world with confidence and grit. The books I chose are an amazing collection of stories that help me guide students into discovering their unique, beautiful and amazing selves.
