My students are freshmen students from rural areas that have limited access to technology and materials that can help them relate to the scientific principles we are covering. They come from diverse cultural and socioeconomic background which has limited their exposure to information that is currently available through technology. They are unfamiliar with the rich experiences that students in many urban schools that enable them to relate to the science principles they are learning nor the practical applications of these principles. Unfortunately, they do not have access to technology on their own, nor have they learned how to utilize technology that is currently available in school, limiting their learning opportunities. They require guidance on how to use any technology to aide in their learning.
