One of the things that my students really enjoy are the films that I show that usually enhance their learning and comprehension. Giving them the world through films from other Francophone countries, allows the students to envision literature or see inside the mind of folks who are not part of the United States which adds to their global understanding. When we read literature or investigate parts of grammar or expressions, I also encourage and set up opportunities for the students to do group or individual artistic projects which greatly enhance understanding, comprehension and allow for alternative assessments which benefit all students but especially students with learning differences. Art, film, presentations and sharing also allow the classroom community to be more interactive and allows speaking, reading and writing in a different language that much more comfortable which in turn adds to their confidence.
