My classroom is decorated in a tropical theme with large palm trees, turtles, ocean water backgrounds, and colorful borders. We are a Title 1 school, 80%+ EL students, and provide a safe place for success. I teach the importance of caring for earth along with California 4th graders learn about our planet, Native Americans, explorers, and California history. I want the class environment to encourage students to come to school for project learning, peer discussions, reading, and math skills. I seek computer science online programs like Hour of Code to teach coding. My homework cannot require internet because only about 2 students home internet. Reading is my focus because today's math requires grade level reading. These wonderful students try to learn and do well in school everyday.
