My students are all about the arts. They learn to think outside of the box and apply all of their academic standards through arts integration. This has helped my students gain confidence in their academics and also give them real life experiences that they can take far beyond the classroom. However, due to a lack of technology, my students are not well versed in the media arts. The media arts are becoming more and more prevalent in society with our state, even creating new standards for media arts this year along with traditional art forms. My goal is to add two laptops to my classroom that can be used in a center rotation where students can work together in groups or with partners to delve into this new world of media arts. Students will be able to research, tour online museums, try their hands at graphic design, and much much more. The students would also be able to use the laptops to read different pieces of literature that connect to media arts and even type responses to prompts about the literature being read.
