The active UNICEF bands were an awesome activity I was able to do with my 3rd graders last year and they loved it. It was so much fun having them meet fitness goals but also know that they are impacting children around the world. It was a great tool to connect them to the global food crisis and teach them to have a heart of compassion and missions as well as encourage fitness and healthy living. We live in a very self-centered world and my goal is to teach apathy and compassion in my classroom. The active bands are a fun and engaging way to do this. They have fun working out but also understand that they are providing food and nourishment to kids around the world.
