Giving students a choice in where they sit unlocks their minds! Allowing students to choose their learning space teaches them higher-order thinking and building those problem-solving skills. The wobble chairs and standing desks are just examples of ways students can move while working. Moving keeps the blood flowing to the brain and helps keep students focused and on task. Not only will flexible seating help students stay on task but it will allow them the opportunity to collaborate with others. Comfortable seating around the room encourages partner and group work, which builds better discussion and social skills. Bean bags, cuddle chairs, balance balls, and lap desks let students make a choice about their learning environment while meeting sensory needs.
