An inclusive bookshelf gives students the opportunity to explore the world and learn about topics they are curious about. Providing a diverse selection of authors and characters creates a sense of belonging. Students need "mirrors" to see themselves, "windows" into cultures outside your own, builds strong communities, creates opportunities for discussion, and emphasizes similarities. These books will go directly into the hands of my students who request to receive them through a weekly giveaway and I will share titles on social media like Twitter and Instagram to help promote others to #DisruptTheCanon.
