Help my students discover the magic of books through Carpe Librum! (Seize the book!) Carpe Librum! is a movement that will inspire students to find the power of reading. Students will have access to high-interest young adult novels & challenging classics in my classroom library and will be encouraged to steal every extra moment to read. A reading-rich environment will lead to students who are continually discussing, recommending, and sharing books. They will gradually build the stamina, vocabulary and confidence needed to tackle increasingly challenging text. Help fill my book nook with wall-to-wall books that connect to the lives of young adults. Remember the book that got you hooked? My students need that hook. They need to experience the moment when you simply cannot put the book down. Help them to find the magic and embark on a journey of curiosity, discovery, and joy. Carpe Librum!
