My students will grow as readers as they explore different topics and concepts within fictional texts. These books have plots that will help their imaginations grow, their understanding of others deepen and most important their love of reading increase. Stories that my students relate to, and represent their identities will keep them engaged in a text for longer periods of times. Topics that interests students allow their reading stamina to grow and therefore their reading skills to continue to develop. My students will forever be changed by the challenging yet important topics in the stories I selected. I am eager to engage in rich discussions about these books and many more as students finish one book and can't wait to pick up another.

About my class
