Through reading, I believe we can afford students a meaningful understanding of the diverse world around them. Reflecting on my classroom library it has been realized that there is a need for more books that reflect our multicultural society. I strongly believe, more than ever, that students should be educated and prepared for today’s global and ever evolving society. I witness my student's eyes lighting up when they read books about the various cultures and lifestyles around the wold. Having access to more books will expose them to the richness of cultural diversity for years to come. Together, we will make the world more approachable.
