As a Counselor/Teacher, I am always trying new ways to build Social Emotional Strategies via learning relationships. Most of the time this takes me on a creative adventure on how best to teach the students positive relationship skills and incorporate academic goals in an embedded way. Currently we are running a comic book club before school to help kids in various ways. Comics can introduce positive models of integrity, social responsibility, and creative ways to solve life issues. Often students are dropped off too early for school and without support. H.o.H becomes a warm place for those kids to gather and create. These materials I'm requesting, help Hall of Heroes (comic book club) reach kids, teach positive character traits, increase creativity, as well as providing them a time to create comics of their own for school-wide publication.
