I am so excited that students have the opportunity to practice yoga as part of our curriculum. I have enjoyed teaching students how yoga can help with the emotional, social, and physical challenges they may face. Children can translate the breathing, concentration, and poses that they learn in class to any situation. Through yoga, students will build self-confidence, improve their ability to focus, and strengthen the mind-body connection. The past 11 years have taught me that, as an educator, we need to make everything fun for students. This is why I want to experiment with new exciting ways students can practice yoga and try what I’m calling “Glowga” (Glow in the dark yoga). Having black lights, neon glasses, positive words "secretly" written around the room and illuminated when the black lights are turned on.... Is there a more fun way you can think of to practice yoga?
