My students are working hard in order to become bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish. As we are becoming a technological society, many organizations are offering several online resources that can help them expand their vocabulary, build phonemic awareness, and improve their reading skills. I had the opportunity to observe several classrooms where technology was being used, and I noticed these great differences that it made in their educational progress. I believe the reason for these differences is because it has been helping them connect with all their learning styles, such as kinesthetic, visual, auditory, etc. I feel that having Chromebooks in the classroom will be beneficial to my students because it will have a positive impact on their education. By donating to this project, my students will have the opportunity to enhance their language abilities in both languages by using interactive learning games and assigning them assignments that target their specific needs. My students will be able to learn at their own pace because I will be able to provide individualized instruction. Another benefit of letting my students use Chromebooks is that I would be able to keep a record of their progress and use this information to give me an idea on what skills I need to target during my instruction. My students love hands-on activities and when the information is animated. By giving them a laptop where they can make learning interesting and exciting, I believe their skills will have a better chance in growing and they will have fun learning them.
