I teach Pre-K at Jefferson Elementary. I have worked with this age group for 10 years. Four and five year old children are typically being introduced to the school setting for the first time. They come in a bit shy at first, but their personalities soon emerge! They are extremely excited to be in "big school," and are eager to learn and have fun. Children at this age are curious, inquisitive, energetic, playful, loving, and so happy to be in school. I know that it is my job to instill a joy of learning for my little ones, and I try my best each day to make school fun and engaging! We have many learning centers set up in the classroom. To name a few, we have Dramatic Play, Art, ABC and Writing, Math and Science, Music, and Blocks. These centers are full of opportunities for my students to play pretend, practice and show what they are learning, be creative, and learn how to share and get along with others.
