My students love to read, and become genuinely excited whenever I bring new books into the classroom. I have been slowly building a library, with a focus on books about students with hearing loss. Unfortunately, only a few of those types of books exist. I want to offer my students a wider variety of books that they can truly relate to. The focus of my library is inclusion, and each book has been carefully researched and selected to give my students many opportunities to read about people facing adversity similar to theirs. Reading these books will help them see themselves in literature, find advice and inspiration through other people's stories, and become more connected to reading as a whole.
