I teach Agriculture CTE, specifically floral design and animal science. In Floral Design, we create projects to enhance the creativity of our students, as well as giving back to our community. Our designs go to our teachers and administration during teacher appreciation week, bosses day, and nurse appreciation. We also send designs to our local nurses and first responders. At the beginning of the year, we create mums to participate in the Texas tradition of Homecoming. Without these projects, some of my students would not be able to purchase a mum; now, they get to create their own. In animal science, we teach all the body systems of the animal and how they function. With the playdough, we create miniature versions of the animal's body systems and organize them by how they are found in the body. The students get to use hands-on learning to create a 3D understanding of the animal's anatomy and systems.
