My students learn through hands on labs in science. I feel this has been the most effective way to teach them throughout the three years they have been my students. Since 6th grade, my students have been asking me if we would be able to dissect a frog. This is the one lab they truly want to do. I would love to be able to provide this experience for them before they graduate 8th grade and move on to high school. By dissecting frogs, my students will be able to learn more about the human body systems. They will be able to explore the organs of a frog and compare them to humans. They will be able to recognize that they are able a frog’s liver have 3 lobes versus a human liver with one lobe. My students will be able to identify other organs in the frog such as the heart, intestines, stomach, etc.
