Currently, my students have a few places to snuggle up to a book and read. They take turns sitting in my teacher chair or stool or lay down on our class carpet. There isn't enough space on the carpet for every student to lay down and get comfortable and as third graders, they need to be able to read for at least 40 minutes! We are working on this goal one day at a time. Each day, we read for a five minutes longer. Help us reach our goal! Your donation will help us go to places when we have to stay where we are. My students need to fall in love with reading, and to do that, they need to be comfortable when they read. With flexible seating and different options, students can find what works for them. Enjoying a good book in our classroom should feel like snuggling up to a good book with mom or dad before bedtime. Being comfortable will build their confidence as readers and they will look forward to reading time.
