Daily we see on the news stories of wildfires, floods, earthquakes and other natural disasters. The reoccurring theme in each of these stories is that first responders are stretched beyond their limits and rely on the local community volunteers help with evacuations and basic first aid. Students will learn the skills to help those in the community and on campus. It is not a matter of if a disaster will strike again in California but of when. When that time does arrive students trained in CERT will answer the call and help their community. This training will help introduce students to the field of emergency medicine and first responders.

About my class
