Tell me and I will forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I will understand-Chinese proverb. These simple words resonate so much to me and to how I approach my students. My students have each been identified with a learning disability and/or developmental disorder and each is a unique little person with their own learning style. Because of this diversity it is sometimes a challenge to create modifications and variations to lessons and skill sets to meet the individual needs of each child.It is crucial that EVERY child is afforded the opportunity to participate in every aspect of the classroom environment. Sadly, sometimes this becomes near impossible. It is up to me, their teacher, to create that setting, where all children,regardless of their disabilities will be able to have equally rich learning experiences. With your donation, I can bring them closer to that.
