I teach primary Montessori to 24 students who range in age from three to six years old. Those who start in my class as three year olds will remain with me for three years before moving on to first grade. For many of my students, this is their first experience away from home. Our school is located in a low socioeconomic area with many of my students coming from single parent households. We are a Title One school and all of my students receive free or reduced lunch.
