The use of technology, such as tablets in my classroom will allow my students to use programs like Learning Ally, this program allows my struggling readers to choose a book from the audio library. The reader can follow along with their book or listen to the story. My students will feel empowered and not feel frustrated trying to figure out the pronunciation of each word in the book. They will also feel motivated to test on Accelerated Reader and earn point for passing grades. My students will also have the opportunity to use other school approved websites such as Brain Pop, Read Works, and Newsela. Their self-esteem will improve when they feel empowered with knowledge.
