Over half of my student speak Spanish at home. Many students are learning English and could benefit from have books and materials around the room that they can read an connect with. My students need authentic text and classroom materials to help them learn and grow as they transition from Spanish to English. These bilingual materials will help make a more welcoming environment and show support of all. Building a classroom of learners take many different types of resources and materials. The more materials that I can use in my classroom will make the learning more effective for all of my students. I want my students to be able to read texts in their first language. I also want them to feel welcomed and that their culture is respected within my classroom. When a student feels loved and appreciated it makes the learning more effective and real for all students.
