In 2021, I had a vision that low income elementary students needed to see how they could grow healthy fruits and vegetables in their own neighborhoods. With a dream and no budget, I started the gardening club. We met each Tuesday morning for 1 hour. There were 18 students in the original program. We started on a "Shoe-String Budget" with a few plastic pots, packs of seeds and potting soil from the Dollar Tree. We sprouted herbs and flowers that they watched grow in the windowsills of the school and in their homes. The Garden Club has never received school funding. I have purchased all supplies from my slim paycheck. We did not plant in the Fall of 2022 and the students begged me to restart the Spring program. With your support, we can Blossom on Apple Grove Hill! https://www.donorschoose.org/c-edmonds
