My students want and need books that are both mirror and window; reflecting both their own cultures and allowing them inside views to different identities, cultures, and people. The power of reading and understanding the interconnections of our increasingly smaller world is exponential. Our students need this knowledge for future success. Your donation will support this endeavor by purchasing diverse young adult novels. As a librarian, I especially want to provide a wide variety of materials to create and encourage empathetic, life-long readers. Donating to help fund this book selection will open academic and personal growth they may not think possible.
