My students need 5 Chromebooks to enhance and further their small group learning! As my school's only reading interventionist, I see students from the 7th-12th grade for extra reading instruction in a small group. I teach some of the most struggling students at my school, as well as the highest performing students who need instruction at a level high above their peers. In order to support so many different learners, I need 5 Chromebooks to support students with standardized testing, online reading practice, coding practice, project-based learning, and assessments. The 5 Chromebooks will allow my high achieving students to take ownership of their own learning through project-based learning and my most struggling students to progress monitor and do extra practice. RTI (Response to Intervention) is a new department at my school, with this year being our first full year of interventions. As the year has progressed, we are realizing that there are certain materials we desperately need in order to be successful. Without Chromebooks, we are unable to let our RTI students come to the RTI department to take their standardized tests in a small group - a setting many of them need in order to succeed. Additionally, our high achieving students are eager to take charge of their own learning and get going with researching their own projects, but cannot do so without access to laptops or a school library. They are also so excited to hopefully be able to practice coding in their highly performing pull-out. These 5 Chromebooks are so needed by all our students and will be so appreciated by our entire school!
