As first graders, my students are still very young and active. I want my students to be energetic and moving during learning because I know that it is necessary for them to be healthy, and that movement encourages brain growth. The flexible seating and work spaces I have selected will allow my students to move while still working hard. The balance balls are great for wiggly kids and can be used at a desk or table. The soft cushions provide a comfy spot to sit while working on the floor. The lap desks can be used while students are writing, reading or working on their Chromebooks. All of these options are fun alternatives to the traditional school chair, which is developmentally inappropriate for six and seven year old children. I know that all of these flexible seating and work spaces will help my students be the most successful learners!
