As a high school student, I was never interested in education beyond my high school diploma. As a result my high school GPA was very low. I would have never been accepted to college if not for a fantastic mentor, who happened to be a top executive with Marriott Hotels, Ron Harrison. He probably doesn't even remember me, but he changed my life with his encouragement and support. After completing my B.S., I went on to get a M.S. degree and am currently working on a Doctorate in education. I feel dedicated to make an impact in the lives of young people like Mr. Harrison did for me. It's my way to give back. I have volunteered with B.S.A. for over 20 years and for the past 4 years have sponsored a nature club after school to get students involved in outdoor educational experiences, as well as service to the community and environment. Thank you for considering to support my efforts with these youth.
