My students are attending an urban/suburban high school, built in the mid-sixties and showing its age. They are typically low to middle income students and often the first generation of their family aiming to attend college. Our high school is amazingly diverse, with over 20 home languages represented. They are eager and intelligent but have so far had a very limited science experience, especially in Chemistry.
