I teach a group of wonderfully, challenging students who range from English Language Learners (ESL) and Special Education students, to average and Gifted and Talented students--often times all in one room!!!! I have an average of 32 kids per class in our inner city, Title I school. Our school doesn't have any technology for the students. All of the students enjoy hands-on activities and of course technology! Whenever possible, I use my desktop computer and document camera that I managed to inherit from a retired teacher to teach them; but they have nothing to use themselves. I have noticed over the years, that the "electronic lessons" are far more engaging and the students always seem to learn more from them. My low-level and ESL students would definitely benefit from technology in our class because it provides a way for everyone to participate without the embarrassment that sometimes comes with many group activities.
