My 2nd grade teaching position in a Title 1 STEM school is both incredibly rewarding and challenging. The school is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and our students come from areas of high-poverty. Many of the children struggle due to their lack of basic necessities, so acquiring supplies for the classroom will encourage them to succeed. I am moving into a new classroom, so anything would be incredible to have for my students (notebooks, folders, binders etc.) The donations could motivate ALL students and show them that there are many people that want to see them grow as citizens. The donations would mean the world to us! Resources for the ESL students would be immensely beneficial for those students to bridge the achievement gap. My classroom is a positive learning environment where the students cooperatively learn together and teach me many things along the way. :)
