In February, 2015, our school suffered a devastating roof collapse. Thank goodness the students were on winter break and no one was hurt. 500 students were relocated and the building has been shut down ever since. Our elementary school students were transferred to an old h building that was originally built for high school. My third grade students do not have any cubbies, storage units, sinks or comfort spaces in my classroom. The blackboards are etched with scratches, we are crammed into small rooms and my students deserve better. These rooms are NOT child friendly and are very small. I would like to create a semi-flexible classroom by creating a warm and inviting reading corner for them. The rug that was generously donated to me is stained and has been discarded. Please help me create a fresh space and allow more storage. I will need $400 for a rug, book sacks and paint.
