Listening skills are an important part of communication skills. Children need to focus on learning listening skills, even more so in Kindergarten. It is important for our students to become active listeners at a young age. If I am able to create a listening center for my students, they will be able to have quiet time, listening and following along with books. Also, listening to book help the students become fluent readers. I will use the color printer to ensure that all of my centers/ stations are able to have tangible, creative materials that students who are in a preoperational stage can identify and learn from.
