My students deserve everything in the world, but they by no means get it. They barely even have the essentials that they need in the classroom to create a memorable and fun filled learning experience. They have next to none in the classroom when it comes to technology.
This iPads will be extremely helpful in the classroom, especially for those students who are more behind in math. They will now have a fighting chance to catch up to the rest of the class and have a better chance of passing their standardized tests. The iPads will be used during small group time to allow gets to get on math essential programs, such as Think Through Math. Having just three iPads in the classroom where students have access to those types of programs, allows the lower students to work at their math level and strive to do better. There is proven data that if students pass 30 lessons/levels on these programs, they are more likely to meet their tiered growth on standardized tests. Students who pass their standardized tests and make reading level are more likely to score high on the ACT and get into a college of their choice.
Learning starts at a young age. It's hard to play catch up when there is a diverse group of students all wanting to learn right in front of you.
