Access to technology is increasingly becoming more and more essential to student learning. An Apple desktop computer will give my students access to the latest technology and will enhance their learning experience. The computer will be used for two primary reasons. First, it will be used to access quality applications that teach students about mathematical concepts, as well as how basic math skills can help them learn financial literacy. A few examples include Green Streets: Unleash the Loot, Renegade Buggies, and Savings Spree. The second use for the computer will be to give students the ability to use technology to better access the curriculum. For example, students will be able to use Dragon Dictate software to dictate an essay about financial literacy without being hindered by poor writing skills. Additionally, students will be able to use the computer to create projects and presentations to share with the class. The possibilities are endless for my students with access to this kind of technology.
"If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." ~Ignacio Estrada
My students learn best through multi-sensory teaching and technology.
Having access to this technology will empower them to learn new life skills that will impact them for years to come.
