My students are hard working and challenge seekers, who love to learn new things everyday. Many come home from single family, low income homes where many times the thought that we may not have enough for food much less books and opportunities to explore the world beyond the their 5 mile radius is real. They love to learn, they are kind hearted and willing to go on the journey of being in my 3rd grade class this year. They are bilingual and strive everyday to become more proficient with their English. Where most students have support, they don't, where most students have positive role models, they don't. And yet, everyday they come to school looking to feel safe, and to obtain the tools they need to end the cycle of being at risk and low SES. In my class they are learning to dream big and work hard to achieve their dreams.
