My students are a very diverse group of 5th graders with a wide range of needs and skills. They are active mobile and expressive, and they are also creative. They enter the classroom with varying levels of academic and medical needs. As the world outside of our classrooms change, so do our children. Some students work and think best sitting on the floor, laying on the floor, or working close to the ground. Flexible seating will support students who would rather work at a floor level table or on the ground. You will often find these children kneeling on the chair, standing often or asking to stretch. Studies show that when a personalized environment is created, students are engaged, behavior issues are minimal, learning is happening and academic scores are improving!
