My school is a Title I school and is home to numerous socio-economically disadvantaged students. We have 100% qualifying students for free breakfast and lunch, as well as a backpack program with our local foodback. Many students are first generation American citizens, or immigrants, and are English language learners. Therefore, pictures and hands on experiments prove to be the best practice for all learning. Since COVID, social and emotional learning has taken center stage as students have to relearn many foundational skills and retrain their brains for the learning environment. It has been a long road, but we are seeing bright spots everyday with students in different areas of growth! My students are my pride and joy, my Love Bugs, and they will never truly understand how much they mean to me. Rest assured that whether a project here is fully funded or not, my students will receive everything in my power to succeed!
