For the last few years, the primary school library has had a very low budget for new books. That means our collection ended up being very dated--particularly the nonfiction section, which has an average age of more than 20 years old. My kids are so bright and curious, and I want to provide them with new, enticing books to satisfy their desire to learn! I also want to buy some of the fiction books my students have especially requested, because I know that choice is such an important factor in building a lifelong love of reading into kids.
